Synopsis

All aboard for a swashbuckling adventure on the high C’s.

Join Sinbad the Sailor and his twit of a brother Binbag as they set sail for what will be their most dangerous and thrilling journey ever.

But someone is out to ruin their quest for the Golden Amulet - could it be the sinister vizier Alicante; maybe it’s the beautiful slave girl who holds a secret; or could it be the ship’s cook…who’s just plain odd?

Their adventure takes them across the globe hitching a ride on a giant eagle; coming face to face with a mystical dragon; and being bound up by tribal warriors. All is surely lost BUT with the bravest man on the whole ocean on hand, all will be saved and the girl must be won….!

With songs, comedy, dance and a splash of ‘Sideways’ thinking, this is one voyage with a twist that you’ll never forget, for kids big and small!!

Background

Sideways Theatre Company is a Midlands based company working countrywide. Sideways is passionate about using theatre and drama techniques in so many different ways – not just ‘strutting and fretting upon a stage’!!
Our performances, either in a Theatre show, touring production or one of our established evening Murder Mysteries, stand out as quality productions with the audience’s enjoyment at the forefront of our minds!

We want to offer the opportunity to our audiences and clients to experience quality performances or purely bespoke workshops, events, and entertainment.
Sideways Theatre Director, and Sinbad’s writer/director

Sinbad was written and directed by Stephan Bessant, Sideways Theatre’s director.

Stephan has been an actor for over 11 years, graduating from Webber Douglas Academy. He set up Sideways in 2007 to create bespoke workshops and performances for companies and schools; deliver quality Murder Mystery events; and to produce solid work for actors.

Recent projects include for Midlands Police the Sideways Theatre new filming arm – Sideways Motion, producing a film about graffiti for all of Birmingham cities plasma screens.
