Tales of the Apocalypse's picture

Gravity-defying aerial circus exploring imminent doom and destruction. Entropic visions, ghostly entities, imploding stars and radioactive dust - is this prophecy or fantasy?

Crazed astronauts battle it out for supremacy of the Earth; a survivor throws off his hazmat and contorts to radiation sickness; forgotten androids dance an endless duet... meanwhile a lone woman is pursued into the air by a shadowy figure that bears an eerie resemblance to Death himself. But all is not lost, as out of the debris a brave new world is forming.

Featuring amazing routines on trapeze, hoop, silks, rope and dance trapeze, Tales of the Apocalypse offers its audience a jaw-dropping adventure through various apocalyptic scenarios. Twisted, terrifying, stunningly beautiful and downright hilarious, this is circus cabaret as never seen before.

Tales of the Apocalypse was premiered over two weeks in the Shunt Lounge, London 2009, where it received critical acclaim and was Time Out’s Critic’s choice.

NOIR's picture

Film noir meets circus in a sky-high detective thriller: mysterious blondes, enigmatic clients, murder, mayhem and madness all collide in a quest for the truth. Gripping narrative woven into a spectacular visual feast for all ages.

NOIR is aerial physical theatre extraordinaire. A dramatic thriller, set in the 1940s taking ‘film noir’ as its motif, NOIR fuses the disciplines physical theatre and circus. Eleven aerialists take to the stage using cargo nets, trapeze, rope, silks and aerial hoop to tell the twisted tale of a detective desperately searching for the woman he loves in a vicious underworld fraught with danger.

After a sell-out run at the Albany, London 2007, NOIR went on to wow packed audiences at Glastonbury 2008. This version has been specially designed and adapted for the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Fringe.
